Tecmo Cup was one of the staples in my collection of Nintendo games when I was a kid. I was an avid player of football (soccer) and a huge fan, and Tecmo Cup kept me and my friends entertained for hours on end.

Of course, a healthy dose of childlike imagination found us declaring favourites and friendly rivalries. Ask me about any character in the game and I can provide a fictional back-story.

Tecmo Cup demonstrates how a good idea and simple graphics combined with a fantastic sport can make a great game.
